The changes in gut bacteria brought on by two strains of probiotics were found to affect lipid and amino acid metabolism, according to a new study from Nestle and Imperial College London.
In addition, the probiotic strains, or “friendly bacteria,” sparked changes in the metabolism of bile acids. This, in turn, could influence fat absorption in the body, according to a story in foodproductiondaily.com.
This research was significant in that it gives a glimpse into how probiotics act in the human body. The story noted that although probiotics have become widely used in many products, their method of action in humans is mostly unknown.
In this study, probiotic beverages were administered to mice that had human microbes in their guts. The report was published in the journal Molecular Systems Biology.
WellZymes™ Metabolic Balance™ contains herbal extracts to stimulate the body’s metabolic processes. It helps the body burn fat calories and possibly helps burn stored fat. WellZymes™ Colon Health, a probiotic supplement, contains more than 3 billion “friendly bacteria” for digestive health. These strains help to impede the growth of harmful gut bacteria. They also can promote a healthy immune system.
