Several news outlets in mid-March reported Alzheimer’s disease was expected to affect one out of eight baby boomers.

As they climb into their 60s, baby boomers are faced with some mind-numbing calculations:

  • There were 411,000 new cases of Alzheimer’s in 2000
  • 454,000 new cases of the disease are expected per year by 2010
  • By 2050, each year will bring close to 1 million new Alzheimer’s cases

Now, about 5.2 million Americans have the disease, according to ABC news, which reported the above findings from the Alzheimer’s Association.

In a recent study on mice, researchers found exercise might be the best way to ward off Alzheimer’s, as it prevented the formation of plaque in the brain by 50 percent to 80 percent, according to ABC. Further, when mice exercised they produced two times as much of an enzyme that breaks away plaque.

In addition to exercise, many reports say crossword puzzles and other mind exercises that challenge the brain might be good for Alzheimer’s prevention.

Along with these measures, WellZymes™ Mental Focus™ could help baby boomers and the elderly maintain memory, concentration and energy. Mental Focus™ contains rejuvenating herbs and enzymes that enhance blood flow to the brain.
