| Oat Straw extract |
Oat straw extract contains silica, which is important for
bone health. It has also been
associated with improved male and female sexual function as well as in the
treatment of addictions such as narcotics and nicotine.
It is also used externally to relieve the itch of some
skin disorders. Comments: Consult with physician if pregnant or nursing or taking oral medication. |
| Oregon Grape Root extract | Oregon grape is used to assist in the treatment
of different gastrointestinal issues, including ulcers, heartburn, and other
stomach problems. It is also reported
to have antibiotic/antiseptic properties and is used to assist in the treatment
of skin disorders. Oregon grape contains berberine and should not
be taken while pregnant or nursing.
Those with hyperthyroid conditions should not take Oregon grape. Complications may result from overdosage,
such as: vomiting, lowered blood pressure and lowered heart rate. Other symptoms of excessive berberine intake
include lethargy, nosebleed, and skin and eye irritations. Excessive intake of berberine is reported to
be over 500 mg – always take at the low, recommended doses.
