    InvertaseAn enzyme that digests the disaccharide sucrose into its two monosaccharides, fructose and glucose. Invertase is also called sucrase.
     
    IodineEssential for healthy thyroid function; necessary constituent for synthesis of thyroid hormones, triiodotyrosine (T3) and thyroxine (T4).
     
    Irish Moss
    Irish Moss is often used as an alternative for over the counter cough and flu medicines.  It is rich I in potassium chloride – which helps to dissolve catharrs, responsible for congestion, and iodine   - to strengthen the immune system as an anti-microbial.


    Comments: It is recommended those taking anti-coagulant drugs avoid massive consumption of Irish Moss, and those who are pregnant or nursing should consult a physician.
     
    IronVital for the production of hemoglobin in red blood cells and myoglobin in muscle cells; required for oxygen and carbon dioxide transport; essential cofactor in the synthesis of neurotransmitters (dopamine, norepinephrine, serotonin).
