    Hawthorn Leaf & Flower extract
    Hawthorn is has been used in the treatment of many different cardiovascular conditions – especially congestive heart failure - in addition to being used as an antispasmodic, sedative, astringent, and a diuretic.  It has also been utilized to treat different gastrointestinal conditions. 


    Comments: Avoid use with other cardioactive herbs, and interactions have been reported with calcium channel blockers, CNS depressants, Digoxin, and Nitrates. Reported adverse reactions include nausea, gastrointestinal complaint, fatigue, sweating, and a rash on the hands. Others in clued: palpitations, headache, dizziness, vertigo, dyspnea, nosebleeds, sleeplessness, agitation and circulatory disturbances. Do not use if pregnant or nursing.
     
    Horsetail Herb extract
    Horsetail is indicated for the treatment of urinary tract infections and bladder and kidney stones.  It has also been used for tuberculosis, brittle fingernails, gout, and topically for wounds and burns


    Comments: Horsetail is contraindicated with swelling due to diminished heart or kidney function. Use caution with chromium containing supplements, licorice, cardio-glycoside herbs, and stimulant laxative herbs. Some drug interaction is indicated as well – corticosteroids, digoxin, and diuretic drugs. Those pregnant or nursing should consult physician.
     
    Hydrangea Root extract

    Hydrangea root is used orally for several conditions of the urinary tract.  Hydrangea is thought to have a mild diuretic effect and may have an ability to resist the formation of calculus and stones.  It is advised not to exceed over 2 grams per dosage – three times a day appears to be a common dose.

     


    Comments: Hydrangea can cause gastroenteritis, and reported overdose symptoms include vertigo and chest tightness. Consult physician if pregnant or nursing.
